The Campaign

The Wedding of Princess Olwen

A cinematic, light hearted, character-driven adventure rooted in Welsh myth, inspired by the Mabinogion.

You arrive in the kingdom of Llinffern at a fragile moment.

For generations, an uneasy peace has held between humans and giants. The Llinffern Treaty keeps the balance between the realms of Tir Daear, Hell, and the Otherworld. But something is shifting.

Old powers are stirring. Ancient names are being whispered again.

And somewhere in the wilds of the Isca Forest, a force of chaos has begun to move.

All the while, the kingdom prepares for a royal wedding.

You are summoned to the Amphitheatre of King Llewellyn, where alliances will be tested, secrets uncovered, and the fate of the realm decided.

  • "This is how D&D should be done! Good food, excellent hosting, a DM connected with their material and a story set in the very environment you are playing! A smashing time all around!"

    - Harmonia Hex, Fairy Bard

  • "A beautiful escape from reality, which is exactly what we came here to do. Lots of fun, lots of laughs, and our social batteries are completely emptied, which is always a sign of a really good time."

    - Aranwë Lómelindë, Half-elf Twilight Cleric

  • "The food was beyond belief. It was exemplary, better than I expected it to be. And the number of snacks that were forced on us... was exemplary as well. A truly wonderful weekend - high quality throughout"

    - Tu’lok, Dragonborn Fighter

Mistletoe Cottage
Our home for the weekend

Just outside the charming market town of Usk, Mistletoe Cottage is a three-storey countryside base tucked away in the quiet village of Kemeys Commander. It’s the kind of place where the outside world fades out a bit and you can settle into something slower, warmer, and a little more magical.

Inside, you’ve got a mix of rustic character and comfort. A big open-plan living space becomes the heart of the weekend. This is where meals are shared and stories are told.

The kitchen is fully equipped, but for the weekend it becomes the domain of your private chef. While you’re deep in the game, incredible food is prepared just a few steps away, ready to be served up at the table without you needing to lift a finger.

When it’s time to wind down, there are six well-appointed bedrooms spread across the house, including a king room with its own en-suite. There’s space to retreat, reset, and get ready to dive back in the next day.

Step outside and you’re surrounded by rolling Monmouthshire countryside, with easy access to Usk, Abergavenny, and the Brecon Beacons just up the road. If you fancy a wander, a coffee, or a pint, you’ve got options nearby. But truthfully, once you’re in, you may not want to leave.

For a D&D retreat, it’s pretty much ideal. Private, atmospheric, and just the right balance of comfort and escapism.

  • D&D players handbook

    Game system - D&D 5th Edition 2014

The OG 5th edition is the version our DMs are most comfortable with. This means less time figuring out the rules and more time slaying Goblins. If 5e 2024 is more your jam, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

  • A photo of a DM playing D&d

    Max players - Eight

Once we hit 8 seats we’ll close bookings. We want each player to get plenty of game time and loads of rolls, anything more than 8 can get a little unmanageble. Theres no minimum number, we’ll play on regardless!

  • Game style

A big focus on fun, laughter and cinematic momements. We’ll aim to get a nice mix of combat, exploration and some role play into the weekend. We use battle maps projected onto a screen, with lighting, music and badly painted minis!

  • 18+ Only

There will be graphic descriptions of violence, swearing and potentially some adult themes. 18+ only please.

We’ll ask you to confirm this on checkout and have the right to refuse entry to anyone who cannot prove they are 18+
