Caerleon Retreat
Friday 19th to Sunday 21st June
Eat. Sleep. Roll. Repeat.
Nestled at the foot of the Usk Valley in beautiful South Wales lies Caerleon. Known to the Romans as Isca, this lost bastion is dripping with history and legend. From great Roman amphitheatres to whispers of King Arthur.
Our adventure takes place nestled in the surrounding hills, in a village named Llanhennock. Join us at The Granary, a lovingly converted barn from the 16th Century.
We have three, private, self contained suites. Each with private bathrooms and superb facilities.

Game system - D&D 5th Edition 2014
The OG 5th edition is the version our DMs are most comfortable with. This means less time figuring out the rules and more time slaying Goblins. If 5e 2024 is more your jam, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
-
Max players - Eight
Once we hit 8 seats we’ll close bookings. We want each player to get plenty of game time and loads of rolls, anything more than 8 can get a little unmanageble. Theres no minimum number, we’ll play on regardless!
-
Game style
A big focus on fun, laughter and cinematic momements. We’ll aim to get a nice mix of combat, exploration and some role play into the weekend. We use battle maps projected onto a screen, with lighting, music and badly painted minis!
-

18+ Only
There will be graphic descriptions of violence, swearing and potentially some adult themes. 18+ only please.
We’ll ask you to confirm this on checkout and have the right to refuse entry to anyone who cannot prove they are 18+

The Granary - our home for the weekend
Tucked away in the rolling green hills near Caerleon, The Granary is a beautifully restored farmhouse bursting with rustic charm and warmth. Family-run and full of character, it’s the kind of place where everyone is made to feel at home, and it’s easy to see why so many guests return year after year.
This peaceful, three-star countryside retreat sits on a working dairy farm overlooking the Usk Valley. You’ll wake to fresh country air and views of the Celtic Manor Resort and the ancient Roman town of Caerleon, just a short distance away. Despite its seclusion, The Granary is conveniently close to civilisation, only five minutes from the M4 and around 25 minutes from Cardiff.
Each room is en-suite, blending modern comfort with countryside character. Between sessions, guests can unwind in the communal spaces, enjoy the open air and watch the cows being milked, or take a gentle stroll to the nearby Wheatsheaf Inn for a traditional pint and a bit of local charm.
For those travelling by train, we can arrange pick-ups from Newport Station to make your journey even smoother.
With secure private parking, friendly hosts and genuine Welsh hospitality, The Granary offers a comfortable and quietly magical setting for a weekend of the worlds greatest role playing game, great food and good company.
